CO-OPERATIVE BANK ALERTS MOTORISTS ON FOUR-DAY TRAFFIC DISRUPTION IN NAIROBI CBD
Co-operative Bank has issued an alert to motorists about expected significant traffic disruptions in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
These disruptions are due to planned works involving the installation of heavy machinery at the bank’s headquarters on Haile Selassie Avenue.
The disruptions are likely to affect major traffic flow around key government institutions such as the service lane along Haile Selassie Avenue, especially around the Central Bank of Kenya and Kenya Revenue Authority headquarters.
“Co-op Bank will be lifting & placing some heavy equipment on our Co-operative Bank House building. Due to this, there will be traffic disruption along the service lane on Haile Selassie Avenue,” read part of the Bank notice.
The disruptions are scheduled to take place over four days starting Thursday, November 13, 2025, with varying times including evenings and full days on the weekend.
The planned works are over several days with partial and full road closures during certain hours, urging motorists to anticipate delays, seek alternative routes, and plan their travel accordingly.
Despite the disruptions, Co-operative Bank assures customers that banking services will continue uninterrupted at their headquarters during the period.
“Co-op House Bank Branch will operate as per the usual banking hours,” reads part of their statement
This situation reflects broader urban traffic management challenges seen in Nairobi’s bustling CBD, often impacted by infrastructure and maintenance works.
