KENYA POWER ANNOUNCES WIDE SCALE POWER OUTAGES IN NAIROBI, KIAMBU AND MIGORI
Kenya Power has announced scheduled power outages affecting parts of Migori, Kiambu, and Nairobi counties on Friday, October 31, 2025 in a statement released on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
 
            The outages will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate essential maintenance and upgrade works aimed at improving the reliability and safety of the electricity supply.
“Good Evening. The following areas will be on a planned power maintenance tomorrow (31.10.2025),” Kenya Power posted.
In Migori County, the affected areas include Ikerege Center, Ikerege Hospital, parts of Isibania, Getongonya, Gokiaraka, Koego Market, Nyametaburo, Kiomakebe Market, Nyabongarange, Kwiriba, Kehancha, Taranganya, Kobinto, Komasicha, Senta, Nyamotiro, Nyaroa, Masangwa, Nyabikokori, Ntimaru, Wangirabose, Igena Itambe, Angata, Gwikonge, and adjacent customers.
“South Nyanza region parts of Migori County area: Ikerege, Isibania. Date: Friday, 31.10.2025. Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m.. Ikerege Center, Ikerege Hosp, Parts of Isibania, Getongonya, Gokiaraka, Koego Mkt, Nyametaburo, Kiomakebe Mkt, Nyabongarange, Kwiriba & adjacent customers,” the statement read.
In Kiambu County, power will be interrupted in areas around Fresha Dairies, Palmhouse Dairies, Thakwa Village, County Pride Hotel, Githunguri Shops, Githunguri Police, Ciiko Primary, Gatatha Farmers, Kimorori, Kawaida, Black Petals, Koba Waters, Taka Taka Solutions, Nazareth Hospital, Sycarmore, and Gatono Village with adjacent customers affected.
“Parts of Kiambu County area: Fresha Dairies, Palmhouse Dairies Date: Friday 31.10.2025 Time: 9.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. Thakwa Village, County Pride Hotel, Githunguri Shops, Githunguri Police, Cilko Pri & adjacent customers,” Kenya Power stated.
Nairobi County’s eastern suburbs, including parts of Embakasi and Njiru, will also experience outages as part of related scheduled maintenance.
Kenya Power advises customers to switch off electrical appliances during the outage to prevent damage from power surges when electricity is restored.
The company reassures the public that teams will work to complete maintenance within the scheduled time to minimize inconvenience.
The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts to address frequent power faults and vandalism issues that have affected power supply reliability in areas such as Migori, where local artisans have expressed concerns over blackouts disrupting their businesses.
Customers are encouraged to follow updates via Kenya Power’s customer service centres and online platforms for real-time information during the outage period.
