Comedian Flaqo and Murugi Munyi on Nairobi’s BBL Craze

In a recent TikTok video, Murugi considered the impact of so many confident, transformed women walking the streets of Kenya’s capital.

Playfully, she questioned whether the city and its residents were truly ready for the beauty and confidence these women now embody.

According to Murugi, the increasing visibility of cosmetic transformations is creating what she jokingly calls “magic” in Nairobi, as women continue to live their best lives making empowered choices about their own bodies.

She posed a light-hearted but exaggerated concern: “Can Nairobi handle being in the presence of women who are openly embracing cosmetic enhancements? I am really worried about this trend, guys, because what are we gonna do with such beautiful women walking the streets? Can we handle it? Can we handle being in the presence of women who are living their best lives and doing what they want?”Murugi whimsically went further, imagining the “light shining from their behinds” being “too much” for the city to handle an expression of pride and a celebration of the beauty revolution underway.

Joining this conversation is comedian Flaqo, who has also shared his thoughts on the trend through his TikTok platform.

Flaqo expressed a mix of amusement and alarm, noting that in just one week, he has observed around eight BBL procedures happening in the city a phenomenon he describes as “so diabolical.”

Flaqo’s playful commentary highlights how Kenyan women are boldly embracing change, using cosmetic surgery as a means of body transformation and personal empowerment.

He acknowledges the confidence boost these procedures bring but also jokes about the rapid pace at which this trend is growing.

Flaqo humorously calls on men to “embrace change too” and follow suit by doing what women are doing to their bodies, sparking laughter and reflection among his followers.

With his signature humor, Flaqo comments, “There is too much BBL going on lately. What’s going on?” while urging a lighthearted reconsideration of traditional beauty norms.

His words underscore a cultural shift in Kenya where body aesthetics are increasingly fluid, and self-expression is gaining new dimensions.
